John C. Wellons, CPA, Chief Financial Officer
John Wellons is a public company accounting and finance executive with over 10 years of industry experience including C - level finance and accounting positions with 3 of the 8 largest public BDC's. Before joining TowPath, Mr Wellons was Retained by Ares Capital Corporation (NASDAQ: ARCC) to support their $878 million acquisition of Allied Capital in April 2010.  He assisted with the acquisition accounting and integration of various functions to Ares Capital's Los Angeles office. Prior to his work with Ares, Mr. Wellons served as Chief Accounting Officer and EVP of Allied Capital (NYSE: ALD) with responsibilities that included all SEC reporting, corporate tax, investment accounting operations, treasury, projections and general accounting.  He served as a member of Allied's Management Committee, Investment Committee, Senior Funds Credit Committee and Disclosure Committee.  He also served as a certifying officer on SEC filings. Prior to his work at Allied, Mr. Wellons served in similar capacity at MCG Capital (NASDAQ: MCGC) where in addition to the accounting and finance responsibilities above, he worked with lenders and rating agencies on prospective portfolio companies and with portfolio company Executives to assess and advise on accounting, finance and tax issues.
